I came across this interview by Wale today, and he brought up a subject that I'm really having a problem with right now. HIPSTER RAP. I know that being a "hipster" is in right now, but to base your entire rap career around it, in my opinion, is very one-sided and quite dumb. I, being a MC, hate when rap falls so deep into trends... that none of the new rappers come with originality. For instance, the Cool Kids. I don't honestly think they're the best rappers in the world... i don't even think they're top 100, but at a time in Hip Hop where niggas copy what everyone else is doing, they shine. Since 2005, there have only been a handful of good rappers, and I feel that its time for a change... immediately!!!! Enough with the venting... here's the interview....

I've been meaning to post these for awhile. This is the Greedy Genius Apache Geo Pop. This shoe is VERY ill, and in a day and time where everybody's sporting a Dunk or a SB (Sidebar: I just copped the 720's myself, and my dude Angel just got the Thrashin), its good to see something new. These are retailing for 120 I wanna say, and right now they come in the white... and the purple, or the Yurple, should be dropping soon. Look forward to see ya boy walking down whatever street in these soon.

My only problem with Wale....

I feel that homie is a GREAT artist. I love his music, his creativity, and we both have very similar swaggars. (Sidebar: I'm just not a street wear dude... I actually skate). I just feel like he has no stage presence. When I first heard of him, like I do with all new artist, I did a youtube search... and while watching some of his live performances, it seemed as if either one of two things. Hes extremely shy, or he is still learning how to rock a crowd. This thought became official after seeing him with the Roots on Letterman the other night. In no way, shape, or form am I hating... cause like I said... I love his music. In my opinion, he's the best rapper the DC/Maryland area has EVER had. (Remember B Rich. Lol. You know... the nigga with the Jefferson's sample). Anyway, I hope this doesn't take away from he and I one day working together. (Sidebar: Lupe Fiasco, Wale, and Myself = THE SONG OF THE CENTURY). Much love to the homie, and continue to do it big for the DMV.

I've come to the conclusion that Rising Down is a great album. I was so stuck on Bandana P's new album, that the first few listens to the Roots album didn't stick. Like I said before, there are a lot of jewels on this album... but this nigga Prodigy just murked the game. So I apologize from my statement made the other night. (Sidebar: Pay close attention to the 75 Bars joint... lyricism at it's best). And what's good with a video for Rising Down?

This one is alright. I think that Nike is doing too much with the dunk now days. I feel that after the Dunk trend is over with, they'll go back to being a great shoe. I hope they just don't get too crazy like that did with the AF1. But as far as the release date, I guess it will be retailing soon, prolly for 85 like the other Dunk High's. (Sidebar: I remember when I first started high school, everybody was AF1 or Jordan... I was the only nigga EVER rocking dunks. The great people over at Jordan Brand have decided to drop the 6 in this ill ass color way. These aren't OG colors, so you don't have to worry about them dropping it in a package with a wack ass pair that you prolly hated... and still hate to this day. I told myself that I would stop buying Jordans, but the 6 has to be one of my favorites. These will be out June 7th, and retailing for 150.
