Am I tripping, or does the Roots new album Rising Down seem EXTREMELY depressing? Since when has all the way dark music sounded good? Don't get me wrong, there are a few jewels on the album... but I was expecting the album to be a lot better than this. Black Thought is a GREAT artist, and ?estlove is a great musician... but I think its time for some new shit, a new sound or something. As a fan, I just ask that yall please, please TAKE IT BACK TO THE ESSENCE. (Sidebar: I'm in no way hating, this is just my opinion... I love the Roots... and these are just my thoughts from a fans prospective.)
